Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Choyce Brit Ltd uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies on our website and applications, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1.What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, software development kits (SDKs) in our apps, pixels and device identifiers. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”. They help the Platform work, remember your preferences, keep you secure and help us understand how the Platform is used.
2.Types of cookies we use
- Strictly necessary — required to operate the Platform, keep you logged in and secure. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Functional / preferences — remember choices such as your light/dark theme.
- Performance / analytics — help us measure and improve how the Platform performs. Set only where you consent (where required).
- Marketing — used to measure and improve our marketing. Set only where you consent.
3.Cookies we set
The specific cookies used may change as we develop the Platform. Representative examples include:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
choyce-theme | Functional (local storage) | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. | Persistent (until cleared) |
| Session / auth token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and secures your session. | Session / until sign-out |
| Security / anti-fraud | Strictly necessary | Helps detect and prevent fraudulent activity. | Session / short-lived |
| Analytics (if enabled) | Performance | Aggregated usage and performance measurement. | Up to 24 months |
4.Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we use, for example our payment provider (Stripe) for secure payment and fraud prevention, and map and content-delivery providers. These third parties set cookies under their own policies; we recommend reviewing them. We do not control third-party cookies.
5.Your consent & choices
Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure Platform and do not require consent. For non-essential cookies (such as analytics and marketing), we rely on your consent where required, and you can withdraw it at any time. Where a consent banner or preference centre is provided, you can use it to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
6.How to manage cookies
You can control cookies through:
- Your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Platform working.
- Your device settings — mobile devices allow you to reset or limit advertising identifiers and manage app permissions.
- Our preference controls — where available in the Platform.
For general guidance on cookies, see the ICO’s cookie guidance.
7.Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows when it was last revised.
